Pottery Painting

Pottery painting is a relaxing and therapeutic activity for all ages and abilities.

The pottery is made from a white earthenware clay that is fired to a low temperature, called bisque. Firing it at a low temperature, means the pottery stays porous, so it will absorb the paints really well. The paints that we use are called under-glazes and are very washable and non toxic, so safe for little hands.

Once the pottery has been painted, it needs to be glazed and fired and will ready for collection in approximately 3 weeks (this may vary during peak times).

The glaze used is suitable for food & drink items such as cups, bowls and plates.

How it works

When you arrive at Splat n Splodge you will select the pottery of your choice from over 100 pieces! Choosing is the hardest part!

A member of staff will go through the painting techniques in detail. Don't worry if you are not artistic, we have 100's of stamps and stencils to choose from. You can always bring a design and we can help you transfer it onto your pottery.
